Change in Leadership

On our next meeting, Feb 10, we will finish watching the documentary series, My Transsexual Summer.  Finn, Oliver, and Kylee have been added to our executive leadership (in addition to Eliot).

A Call for Panels and Presentations

In addition to the survey we will be sending to various agencies, we are also looking to expand our educational work to counselors, social workers, medical providers, and other agencies that often serve transgender clients.  Our topics of discussion range from our personal narratives, tips for professionals who work with trans* persons, general 101s for the varying communities, issues for the non-binary populations, as well as advanced advocacy workshops.

We seek to expand and increase the number of educational panels and presentations that we organize and deliver, and that is where your organization comes in. We wish to partner with you in developing a panel or presentation that would be of the most use to your members. If your group is interested or has further questions, please contact us via email at genderwarriors@gmail.com. To read the official letter we'll be sending out, click here.

Survey for Counselors

As part of an advocacy group for transgender and gender non-conforming people, we are currently researching counselors in the Evansville area.  We wish to know more information about agencies and practices regarding how they are doing in the realm of cultural competence for this particular population.  If you are in this field and wish to participate in our survey or know of others who might, please click here and direct others to do so as well.  Fill out as much of the survey as you can, as there are many questions you can still answer even if you have never treated a client with transgender related issues.  Your responses will be used as a tool for our members to garner how trans-friendly your services are.
